Proposal
Due: 3/06
As the final product of this course, you will propose and make a project that uses the methods taught in the class, or other related methods of spatial research. In order to complete this project, you will need to settle on an avenue of research.
During Week 7’s class, I will meet with each group individually to go over your draft proposal.
Please submit a draft proposal consisting of three research questions, with datasets and references for each. The references page of the course site could be very helpful for this.
Ahead of Week 7’s class, add your draft proposal to the drive folder named "draft proposals." We will use this to structure the conversation and make notes.
You can find the sign-up sheet for week 7's class, the full project guide, and a draft proposal template in the course drive.
Presentaiton
Due: 04/10 and 04/17
Sign-up for one of the presentation times using the sheet in the course drive. This presentation is very much expected to be in-progress. It is totally fine if you are working through things still.
Final Submission
Due: 05/06
Submit your project to the course website, using "Tutorial 14: How to Submit Your Final Project".
In doing so, please think about these things:
- This is a public facing website, describe your project as if to a new audience that has never seen it before.
- Cite your sources and more imporantly, your data. If there is a research compendium or github repository associated with your project, I recommend leaving a link there as well so others can pick up where you left off.
- If you would like some references, check out the work from last Spring's Conflict Urbanism seminar.
- Lastly, because this is a public facing website, don't feel like you have to include everything, if there are things you don't want to include.
